We have gotten hit by a load of beautiful weather! They say that normally January and Feb are the coldest, but It´s gotten super nice and warm lately!
This week Turned out to be an awesome week. We asked some members for a reference so they took us to visit their friends. And then they went to church with us on sunday! References from members work! We´ve only been visiting them for a week and they already believe in the Book of Mormon and love going to church! So don´t be shy, send references to the missionaries!
Everything is really going great down here. We have a family investigating and going to church with us, but they´re still a little reluctant to get baptised. The mom was baptised at 8 yrs old but then her family stopped going and she was raised super Catholic and doesn´t really want to change. But her husband is very receptive. He just wants to make sure that his kids are sure of their decision before they get baptised. We´ve taught them for a while now and it´s starting to look good. They´re so close! And through another reference from members we have a super awesome couple investigating the church with us! We work through mainly two sources: Street Contacting, and references.
References are way better than street contacting, but unfortunately the members don´t always want to give em :( Don´t be that way, give loads of references to the missionaries!
Sometimes we do other activities to find new people, but mostly just these two things. Knocking on doors is our absolute last option and President Derbez frowns greatly upon it.
Other acomplishment for the week: I tried eating a habanero. Not a lot, I just took a nibble. It was pretty spicy though! My companion (Elder Kopsa) eats a decent amount of chili, so it´s been pushing my competitive side into action! I might die from the pain, But It is still my goal to eat a habanero pepper whole! I hope you keep practicing eating spicy food, because I officially challenge you to a spicy food eating competition after the mission!
As for the package of food, that was just my comps recommendation. Those things are almost impossible to find down here and if we do find them they turn out to be super expensive! However, I agree. All of those things would probably kill us :)
